FishRadar: Fishing Forecast Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how FishRadar: Fishing Forecast uses data when you use the app, sign in, save locations, or use synced account features.
Short version:
FishRadar uses location to power map and nearby-spot features, requires an account to enter
the app, stores favorites and saved locations for app functionality, and provides both
in-app and outside-app account deletion options.
1. Data We Process
- Precise location: used when you allow location access so the app can center the map, calculate nearby spots, and let you save your own current location.
- Account information: because the app now requires sign-in, FishRadar may process your email address, display name, authentication provider, and app-specific user ID.
- App data: favorites, saved locations, profile preferences, map style, language, units, and similar settings used to personalize the app.
- Support data: if you contact support, we process the information you include in your email or deletion request.
2. Why We Use Data
- To show the map and nearby fishing spots.
- To power sign-in, favorites, saved locations, and optional cloud sync.
- To remember your app preferences across sessions.
- To respond to support and account-deletion requests.
3. Where Data Is Stored
- On your device: local app state such as favorites, saved locations, and preferences may be stored in browser or app local storage.
- In Firebase: account state and synced app data may be stored in Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore so account-based features can work across sessions.
- Through service requests: the app requests map and weather-related data from service providers such as Open-Meteo and Overpass. An optional Google Places layer can also be enabled in production if configured.
4. Sharing, Selling, and Advertising
- FishRadar does not sell personal data.
- The current codebase does not include AdMob or a third-party analytics SDK in the release prepared on April 13, 2026.
- Service providers may process data strictly to deliver app functionality, authentication, sync, hosting, map, or weather services.
5. Data Retention
- Local app data remains on the current device until you remove it, clear app/browser data, uninstall the app, or delete your account from within the app.
- Synced cloud data remains available until you delete your FishRadar account or request deletion through the support channel listed below.
- We may retain limited records when required for security, fraud prevention, abuse handling, or legal compliance.
6. Account and Data Deletion
You can request deletion in two ways:
- In-app: Profile > Delete account
- Outside the app: email cengizhanlabs@gmail.com with the subject line Delete my FishRadar account
More detail is available on the Account Deletion page.
7. Security
FishRadar uses HTTPS and the security controls provided by its infrastructure and service providers. No system can guarantee absolute security, but we aim to minimize access to data and only use data needed for the app to work.
8. Third-Party Services
- Firebase Authentication
- Firebase Cloud Firestore
- Open-Meteo
- Overpass API
- Google Places API (optional if enabled in production)
